Edovo serves a wide audience of learners, from youth to elderly, to all types of backgrounds, cultures, and beliefs. We strive to provide relevant content and curriculum to each person who utilizes our platform, knowing that the diversity of needs is vast. In doing so, we curate content through direct outreach, inbound requests, and through partnership in new content creation.
We primarily focus on adding content that is educational, vocational, or rehabilitative at its core, but also include materials that are inspirational, motivational, or just generally interesting to absorb.
All content added to Edovo Learn by Edovo or external providers undergoes a rigorous vetting process. Each content item is reviewed and assessed across several areas. The assessment includes checks for:
Appropriateness
Is the content appropriate for consumption by an incarcerated audience?
Does it contain nudity, violence, drug use, or other themes that would not be suitable for an incarcerated population that stands at higher risk for relapse into counter-rehabilitative behavior?
Copyright
Does the individual(s) uploading the content own the rights to upload, edit, and distribute that material on our platform?
Does Edovo and the content provider have a content agreement in place?
Effectiveness
Does the content possess qualities that would be of benefit for an incarcerated learner?
Is the content created with incarcerated learners in mind or just for general “learning”.
Criteria & Categorization
How and where would we classify this content on our platform?
Does it fit into broader learning themes already present within Edovo?
Can it be added to existing learning paths to bolster existing learning?
Design
How can we partner with the content creator to best deliver this material to incarcerated learners?
Would it benefit from being created as a curriculum or should it remain as stand-alone items -- like a podcast series versus a documentary that can be created into a structured course for learning and engagement?
Would it have an additional impact if translated to another language? Edovo serves a wide audience of learners, from youth to elderly, to all types of backgrounds, cultures, and beliefs.
